Dr. Christina Leitner

I am Dr Christina Leitner, a UK-trained consultant dermatologist with many years of experience based at the HCA Harborne Hospital in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

I see adult patients (18 years of age and above) for:

• Eczema, psoriasis, acne and other inflammatory skin conditions
• Skin cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Moles, other lumps and bumps on or under the skin surface, chronic sun damage
• Pruritus (Itchy skin)
• Hair loss
• Pigmentation disturbances

I gained a wealth of experience in dermatology over more than a decade. I worked in dermatology across the country including the Manchester area, Cambridge and the West Midlands from 2011.

My first consultant dermatologist post was at the NHS University Hospitals in Cardiff, Wales, followed by a substantive position for several years at the Worcestershire Hospitals NHS Trust (up to 2023).

I have always had an interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery. This led to a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and skin cancer management. I enjoy complex skin surgery and repairs. A good surgical outcome is most rewarding.

I was the skin cancer multidisciplinary team lead at the Worcestershire NHS Hospitals Trust for several years.

In addition to my clinical work, I am committed to advancing my knowledge in dermatology and aesthetic medicine. I completed a Masters in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester.

Throughout my career, I have supported the training of junior health professionals.
and contributed to research studies and scientific conferences. I published articles in several international journals and presented at national and international conferences.

I am member of the British Society of Dermatological Surgery, a subgroup of British Association of Dermatologists, and the British Medical Association.
