Dr Charles Kelly

Dr Charles Kelly is an established Consultant Clinical Oncologist who offers compassionate and evidence-based care for individuals facing a cancer diagnosis. Specialising in non-surgical cancer therapies, he uses targeted modalities including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy to create tailored treatment plans. Dr Kelly places a strong emphasis on supportive, patient-centred care, helping individuals navigate their treatment options with clarity and reassurance.

Dr Kelly completed his medical education at the University of Glasgow before undertaking general medical training. He subsequently completed specialist Clinical Oncology training in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Kelly is actively involved in professional organisations and medical education. He serves as an Examiner for the final examinations at the Royal College of Radiologists and maintains active involvement with the British Institute of Radiology, having previously served as Chair of its Oncology Committee. Additionally, he contributes to academic medicine as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer and Degree Programme Director for postgraduate oncology studies.

Throughout his career, Dr Kelly has developed sub-specialty expertise in head and neck cancer, skin cancer, melanoma, thyroid cancer, and geriatric oncology. His clinical focus encompasses both curative and palliative radiotherapy techniques, systemic anti-cancer therapies, and managing treatment side effects to maintain patient quality of life. Dr Kelly advocates strongly for shared decision-making, ensuring that patients and their families feel empowered and well-supported throughout every stage of care.
