My overall experience was good. Despite a rather difficult time in ICU. The staff who dealt with me there were kind and caring. My time in the surgical ward was much more pleasant and the staffs bedside manner was excellent and made me feel comfortable and at ease.. What would happen next and in the near future was explained clearly and easy to understand. To conclude this was my first major surgery and my first time in ICU. Hopefully my experience especially in ICU will make me cope and understand better if i return in the future.
Following quite a negative experience with the doctor I was an inpatient with at Whiston for a planned Surgery, On the day of my surgery I was introduced to Mr Raslan, who had reviewed my case and completed my surgery. He was very clear in his communications and his patience and bedside manner was excellent. I cannot thank him enough. I saw him at St Helens outpatients on Monday 26th January to review my recovery from surgery, once again Nr Raslan was very informative and supportive answering all my questions prior to discharging me and offering me access to his secretary contact details if I required any further support. Accessing any of my post operative notes at my review worried and concerned me as they had not been updated to the nhs system therefore a couple of my questions to confirm what surgery I had undergone was not available!
Dr Raslan was very informative pre-op and post op, his manner puts you at ease and I am delighted with the outcome of my operation.
Surgery for long term acid reflux, during sleep this was causing choking & difficulty breathing also constant throat pain over a number of years. Mr Raslan was very understanding that these long term issues had worsened & where now having a severe effect. The surgery that was offered was fully explained & easily understandable. He was also very honest when explaining associated risks, even though these where small. We went ahead with the surgery, Mr Raslan and all of the staff treated me with a high level of respect, care & understanding. I felt very reassured throughout, both before & after surgery. This is something that they do countless times a day every day but i was made to feel as if i was there one and only patient. I felt completely reasurred and at peace going into surgery due to the extremely high level of care. The surgery has been a complete 100% success, the throat pain i'd suffered for a number of years had immediately disappeared. Mr Raslan came to see me shortly after & was again very caring & reassuring. Explaining how surgery had gone, asking how i was feeling & explaining what both my short & long term recovery should look like. He was very clear on what to expect of my bodies recovery & of my diet plan over the coming six weeks. Again the care of every single member of staff was outstanding, attentive caring & reassuring throughout. Mr Raslan visited me again the next day to discuss how i was recovering & confirming i was safe to be discharged. He even offered me the chance of an extra night in Hospital to recover if i felt i needed it. I was more than...
Read moreMr Raslan is a supreme professional in his field. His courteous manner from the first I met him whilst I was in hospital to my final meeting months later when he discharged me has been a pleasure every time. This gentleman explained everything to me in clear detail even when I was very ill and his follow ups have been less. I wish him well in his career, I know he will go a long way and he deserves all the success that it brings. Thank you for all your help. P. M.
My recent follow up visit to see Dr Raslan went very well. From pre op to post op Dr Raslan was very informative and explained everything regarding my procedure, after care and recovery . Everything was how he explained it to me. Shown great empathy and care .
