Dr Camus Nimmo is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. He believes in working collaboratively with each individual to develop a personalised approach to managing their condition, ensuring that every patient has the time and space to understand their diagnosis, test results, and treatment options. His goal is to empower patients to take control of their health through clear explanations and thoughtful clinical guidance.
Dr Nimmo has a particular interest in respiratory infections, especially recurrent infections or those that fail to respond to standard treatments. He established and leads the respiratory infection service at his trust. He frequently supports individuals with unexplained cough, wheeze, or breathlessness—whether they are newly seeking a diagnosis or already living with conditions such as asthma or COPD. His assessments typically include advanced investigations, including CT imaging and lung function testing. He is also highly experienced in performing specialist procedures, such as pleural aspiration, bronchoscopy, and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
Dedicated to ensuring patients benefit from the latest medical advances, Dr Nimmo is actively involved in clinical research and serves as the local principal investigator for trials investigating next-generation therapies for asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis. His research contributions have been recognised through multiple scholarships for presentations at the British Thoracic Society and American Thoracic Society conferences.
Dr Nimmo graduated with a BA from the University of Cambridge in 2007 before completing his medical degree at University College London in 2010, earning distinctions in both clinical science and clinical practice. He went on to receive an Academic Clinical Fellowship at UCL and completed his respiratory specialist training in North East London, with rotations at leading centres including St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. In 2020, he was awarded a PhD from UCL for his research on using DNA sequencing to diagnose drug resistance in tuberculosis, publishing several first-author papers on drug-resistant respiratory infections.
He remains actively involved in medical education, supervising resident doctors and contributing to national respiratory training and recruitment. In addition to his specialist respiratory work, Dr Nimmo also brings broad clinical experience through his involvement in the general medical and high dependency unit services at Northwick Park Hospital.

Doctor was very polite and helpful. And the medications also helped me a lot. And I am very much better now. Thank you all the Doctors that have helped me in these 5 years
The doctor was very reassuring, clear and gentle in manner
Doctor Nimmo explained everything to me and he was also very helpful and very good at listening.
Dr C Nimmo was very Co operative, patient and helpfull on giving advice at our appointments.
A routine check on my progress with respiratory issues. I was able to report much improved breathing thanks to Dr Nimmos referral to the Royal Brompton Hospital in January. Their advice, which I have followed carefully, has led to a much more stable respiratory state of health with only two interventions in 12 months of prednisolone and Doxycycline.
Always available for any problems. Helpful and professional. I feel confident in his ability.
Took time to explain the various results and I appreciated how he took time to explore so many options and organised other tests so swiftly. Thank you.
My visit went well Good consultation with Dr Nimmo Very friendly and helpful and listened to concerns and is taking action to sort follow up treatment
Camus is a kind, considerate and very intelligent doctor, who always puts patients first and provides tailored, evidence-based care.
