Dr Camilla Blain

Dr Camilla Blain is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Director of Neurosciences who provides expert care for patients experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. She has a dedicated specialist interest in central nervous system inflammatory conditions, with a particular focus on Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to managing all stages of Multiple Sclerosis, Dr Blain provides comprehensive care for patients with complex conditions such as Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder and neurosarcoidosis. Her clinical practice also encompasses general neurology, addressing both inpatient and outpatient needs, as well as acute stroke management, including emergency thrombolysis and thrombectomy treatments.

Dr Blain began her medical career by qualifying in 1997, having completed her medical studies at Cambridge University and Imperial College, London. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical research, she was awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship and subsequently obtained her PhD in 2008. She completed her rigorous specialist training in Neurology within London, achieving her qualification as a Consultant Neurologist in 2012. Her extensive academic background and clinical training underpin her evidence-based approach to patient care.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr Blain serves as the Clinical Director of Neurosciences, a leadership role she assumed in January 2023. In this capacity, she is deeply committed to the continuous improvement and development of neurological services, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care. She works in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including Clinical Nurse Specialists, to deliver holistic and coordinated treatment plans. Dr Blain is also actively involved in medical education, dedicating her time to supervising and mentoring postgraduate trainee doctors in the field of Neurology.
