Dr Shaw completed his undergraduate medical degree at University College London. He excelled in his specialist training in Audiovestibular Medicine within the Pan-London training programme. He had the benefit and privilege of training at leading, internationally recognised institutes, including the Royal National Throat Nose & Ear Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He was awarded a Distinction in the Post Graduate Certificate in 'Otology & Audiology', from the world renowned UCL Ear Institute. He has won national prizes, and was extremely honoured to be recognised by his peers when he was awarded the highly prestigious 2020 Pat Jobson Prize for 'Services to Audiovestibular Medicine', by the British Association of Audiovestibular Physicians.

Dr Shaw holds a Substantive NHS Consultant post, covering all areas within Audiovestibular Medicine in both adults and children. In addition to his NHS work, he offers timely & comprehensive private consultations, and can also arrange high quality Audiovestibular Testing with trusted quality providers. He practices at the Harley Street Audiovestibular Clinic, Centennial Medical Care Elstree & Wimbledon NeuroCare at Parkside Hospital. Remote consultations are also available.

MY EXPERIENCE , WAS THE MOST THOROUGH !AND HELPFULL I HAVE HAD, AND SO!WANTED.I HAD VERY PATIENT LISTENING , AND KINDLY , CLEAR , SENSITIVE ,EXPLANATIONS AND TESTS ,WHICH GIVES SUCH CALMNESS TO ANY OF MYANXIETY.DR. Dr Shaw was patient listening to my symptoms and explanations of my dizziness. He explained every test thoroughly, why the tests were being carried out to enable a full understanding of what I have been experiencing. Every step of the process was explained. I was made to feel calm and comfortable. I am feeling much better after the treatment.

After experiencing debilitating dizziness on Friday 30th Jan 2026 I phoned Dr Shaw's PA Emma and she was able to book me a visit within a few days on Tuesday 3rd Feb 2026 at his private outpatients clinic in Highgate. He is a quite remarkable audiovestibular physician. I liked him a lot. His enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. The quality and effectiveness of his work with me was "top notch". His manner was very engaging and gave clear and logical information about my dizziness condition. After the examination, involving several tests, I received a specific targeted treatment manoeuvre which he advised should deal with the problem. A day after my visit I feel much improved. The dizziness has gone and I am following his direction to prevent a reoccurrence. I also really appreciated getting the results letter on the same day via the Carebit portal. Worth every penny!

I recently consulted with Dr Ben Shaw regarding a balance issue following sudden hearing loss. He was highly knowledgeable, asked a series of pertinent questions and undertook some physical examinations. His diagnosis was spot on. Dr Shaw is extremely pleasant and a great specialist. After having gone through the NHS initially to both an ENT and neurologist I was discharged from the service with little follow up or support and uncertainty as to my exact diagnosis. I continued to suffer from debilaitng symptoms including vertigo attacks and booked an initial consult with Dr Shaw. From the get go I found Dr shaw extremely easy to talk to and he takes the time to explain the potential causes etc and a management plan to treat accordingly. Talking to Dr Shaw has given me hope once again. Very throughough and one of the best drs around for vestibular issues. Would definitely reccomend.

I went to see Dr Shaw as I was suffering from dizziness and balance issues. Dr Shaw took a thorough history of all my symptoms, he did tests to eliminate what he think could be the cause and listened thoroughly to me and understood the way I was feeling. He gave me a initial diagnosis and recommended next steps. I felt very reassured after seeing him and would definitely go back if need be.

Referred by Dr Salma from CMC who suggested I saw Ben Shaw as she was very confident he was the right person to see at CMC too. I spoke to Emma his PA, very efficient when booking the appointment, kind & caring, a good start to the process made me feel reassured I was in the right place. Saw Ben Shaw and instantly I knew I was in the safest hands. Been having dizzy spells and some vertigo. He gave me a full examination, tested everything asked loads of questions then treated me on the spot. Highly recommended!
