Mr Barnaby Barrass is a highly experienced and qualified Consultant Urological Surgeon with over 26 years of experience in the field. After completing training in London, Bristol and the Cambridge training rotation, he has gone on to perform over 14,000 urological procedures including minimally invasive treatments and surgeries to relieve benign prostatic obstruction.
He has a particular expertise in urological diagnostics and introduced one of the first urology "one stop" clinics in the country, which significantly reduced waiting times for patients. Mr Barrass has also introduced several new treatments and specialities into his department, such as the prostatic urothelial lift (Urolift) and hyperthermic mitomycin for bladder cancer.
As the lead clinician for urological cancer in his department, Mr Barrass has led the urological cancer response to Covid and contributed to several regional cancer guidelines. He is a GMC approved trainer and teaches on several national urology courses.
Mr Barrass has published extensively in the field of urology and has given numerous presentations around the world on urological topics. He is the recipient of 3 clinical excellence awards and numerous academic prizes and grants for his work, including a British Urological Foundation Fellowship.
