Dr Axel Petzold

Dr Axel Petzold is a highly accomplished Consultant Neurologist providing expert diagnostic and therapeutic care for individuals facing a wide spectrum of neurological disorders. Having completed his primary medical qualification and Medical Doctorate with distinction at Karl-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany, he went on to earn a PhD in Biochemistry from University College London. He achieved his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Neurology in 2004 and holds fellowships with the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Royal College of Pathologists, and the European Academy of Neurology.

In his clinical practice, Dr Petzold specialises in neuro-ophthalmology and neuro-inflammatory diseases, with particular expertise in optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), and MOG antibody-associated disease (MOGAD).
