Dr Abhijit Chaudhuri

Dr Abhijit Chaudhuri is a highly respected consultant neurologist with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience in the field of neuroscience. He currently practises at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital and within the NHS , where he is known for his specialist expertise in complex neurological conditions.

Dr Chaudhuri graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Calcutta in 1987 before undertaking postgraduate training in both medicine and neurology at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Bombay. He later completed a PhD at the University of Glasgow. He gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in London and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. He also received the Fellowship of the American College of Physicians.

Dually qualified in medicine and neurology, Dr Chaudhuri is licensed to practise as an adult neurologist. He is a member of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) Scientific Panel on multiple sclerosis, neuroimmunology, and neurological infections. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters to medical textbooks, and serves as a peer reviewer for medical journals and research funding bodies. He was nominated as a Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology in 2016, and has been invited to take part in numerous teaching courses, focused workshops and lectures of the EAN congress. He was previously a member of the specialist working group on multiple sclerosis in the Association of British Neurologists, and a member of the clinical reference group for specialist commissioning in the NHS England. 

His principal clinical and research interests include neurological infections, neuroimmunology, and neuroinflammation. Within the NHS, he runs specialist clinics focusing on neuroinflammatory disorders, neuroimmunology and multiple sclerosis.
