Dr. Awais Khan

Hi, I’m Dr. Awais Khan, a General Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in delivering patient-focused, compassionate care across West Yorkshire. After earning my MBBS in 2000, I gained extensive experience in a wide range of specialties—including general and acute medicine, emergency care, psychiatry, dermatology, and elderly care—before completing my MRCGP in 2012.

I firmly believe that being a good doctor goes beyond just diagnosing and treating conditions; it’s about truly listening to patients, understanding their concerns, and looking beyond the immediate symptoms to provide holistic, long-term care. My strengths lie in communication, empathy, and making sure every patient feels heard and valued.

Alongside my clinical work, I’ve had the privilege of taking on leadership roles in healthcare, helping shape better patient access and urgent care services. In 2015, I co-founded Northern Health, where I continue to work on innovative ways to improve healthcare delivery.

Outside of work, I’m a proud family man and have called Yorkshire home for the past 22 years. I live here with my wife and two children, and when I’m not working, you’ll likely find me exploring new food spots, watching classic British comedies, or following football.
