Dr Audrey Shwe-Tin

Dr Audrey Shwe-Tin is a highly skilled Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who specialises in Ophthalmology. She provides comprehensive clinical and surgical care for patients presenting with a wide range of ocular conditions and acute visual symptoms. Committed to patient-centred care, Dr Shwe-Tin combines thorough diagnostic assessments with tailored treatment strategies to protect and improve her patients' vision.

Dr Shwe-Tin completed her undergraduate medical education at the University of Sheffield, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). She went on to undertake postgraduate clinical research at University College London, where she was awarded a Doctor of Medicine by Research (MD(Res)) for her work on pupillometry and pupil responses in glaucoma patients. She completed her specialist ophthalmic training within the Northern and Oxford deaneries, followed by a dedicated fellowship in emergency eye care. Dr Shwe-Tin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) and serves as an Honorary Clinical Teaching Fellow.

In her daily practice, Dr Shwe-Tin maintains sub-specialty interests in emergency eye care, primary eye care, and conditions affecting the cornea and adnexa. Her expertise encompasses the medical and surgical management of glaucoma as well as advanced cataract surgery.
