About Dr Anthony Crabb
Dr. Anthony Crabb is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with extensive experience in his field. He completed his medical training in Auckland, New Zealand, and finished his specialised training in London in 2009. Since then, he has worked as a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist for the NHS in various locations, including Surrey, Southampton, and Devon.
Dr. Crabb has a wealth of experience in assessing and assisting young individuals who present with neurodevelopmental difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. He also works with young people facing issues related to stress, low mood, and difficulties attending school.
Throughout his career, Dr. Crabb has taken on leadership roles, including serving as Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Paediatric Liaison Network and working as an Associate Clinical Director for Devon CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). He is trained in Autism assessments using the ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised) and has experience in both the private sector and the NHS.
Dr. Crabb is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has registered as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with the GMC (General Medical Council) since 2009. He is a valuable team member at Held Health.

Working with Dr. Crabb was a positive experience but the communication between Held Health and us was very poor. We started the process long before December 2025 and many emails went unanswered, it was impossible to get through by phone, etc. so lapses of communication were a little unsettling, especially when we pay so much for assessment.
Dr Crabb diagnosed my daughter and looked after us with sensitivity- in the early days it was pretty tough and it was reassuring to have him on the end of the phone!
We were very pleased with the professional service received from Dr Crabb and the admin team at Held Health. We initially booked Dr Crabb to conduct a psychiatic assessment for our teenager. We have now booked further assessments using Right to Choose.
My daughter and I had an great experience with Dr Crabb. He was not only highly knowledgeable but also understanding and attentive. His professionalism in using analysis in terms of scientific tests and questionnaires to help us learn more about my daughter's situation was really important for her recovery. He took the time to listen to my daughter's problems and provided a prescription suited to her. After the course of almost a year, my daughter has had significant improvement. I truly appreciate his sound advice and effort.
Dr Crabb is friendly patient and explains it excellently to children.
Dr. Crabb is truly a professional in his field, combining exceptional expertise with a warm and personable approach. It's always a pleasure to work with someone as knowledgeable and kind-hearted as him. Highly recommended!
