Dr Anita Krishnan

Dr Anita Krishnan is a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist who provides expert care across a wide range of neurological conditions. Serving as a Divisional Clinical Director, she brings vast expertise to the assessment and management of complex neurological disorders. Dr Krishnan is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, ensuring that every individual receives a comprehensive evaluation and a personalised management plan designed to optimise their outcome and health.

Her primary clinical interests lie in headache medicine and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure disorders, with a specialised focus on Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) and complex headache syndromes. Alongside treating general neurology inpatients and outpatients, Dr Krishnan has led key initiatives to design regional secondary care pathways for acute headaches and the clinical approach to papilloedema. She is also a champion of healthcare innovation, contributing to the development of rapid-access assessment models and advanced digital tools designed to improve referral processes and shorten wait times for patients seeking specialist care.

Dr Krishnan holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP). Committed to advancing medical knowledge and nurturing the next generation of doctors, she serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer and acts as a Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor for neurology trainees. Furthermore, she is an active member of professional bodies, contributing to the Association of British Neurologists Advisory Group on Headaches and the Special Interest Group in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension.
