Mr Andrew Ramsay

Mr Andrew Ramsay is a specialist in complex cataract surgery. He is on the Specialist Register in Ophthalmology of the General Medical Council (GMC). Mr Ramsay graduated in Medicine from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London, having won the final year prize in Medicine. He also has an honours degree in Psychology. Mr Ramsay began ophthalmic training at the Tenant Institute of Ophthalmology, Glasgow, before moving on to the North East of England registrar rotation in Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. He completed Senior Registrar training in ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen's Square, London.

Mr Ramsay holds two fellowships in both Cornea and External Eye Disease as well as Medical Retina and Inflammatory Eye Disease from Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he undertook further subspecialist training. Mr Ramsay has been an international and national examiner for the postgraduate Fellowship exams of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He has lectured and published nationally and internationally and was a clinical sub-dean at the University of Cambridge.
