About Mr Andy Jones
Mr Andrew Jones is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon and has been a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board since August 2022. His clinical practice includes the management of general and complex knee trauma, as well as elective knee surgery across all age groups.
He undertakes a wide range of knee procedures, including total and partial knee replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, ligament reconstruction, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery, meniscal surgery, patellofemoral (kneecap) procedures, and surgery for knee sports injuries. He also carries out knee preservation surgery, including osteotomy procedures around the knee, and offers revision ligament reconstruction where indicated.
Mr Jones has been involved in a number of research projects during his career and has published in orthopaedic journals. He has presented his work at national and international conferences. His current research interests focus on improving patient care and experience during knee replacement surgery, including the development of day-case and short-stay arthroplasty pathways.

Andy Jones was very clear in his assessment of my requirements and explained the procedure succinctly He was very professional and gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions. I didn’t need to as everything was covered in his explanation .
