Dr Alison Honan

Dr Alison Honan is a highly qualified Consultant Dermatologist who provides expert care for both adult and paediatric patients. She diagnoses and manages a comprehensive range of acute and chronic skin conditions with an empathetic, thorough, and patient-centred approach. Dr Honan is dedicated to delivering clear guidance and personalised treatment strategies to support her patients' overall skin health and well-being.

Dr Honan graduated with an MBChB and BSc (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 2008. Following her medical degree, she completed competitive specialty training in Dermatology in the West of Scotland. She was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2019. Dr Honan is a member of several professional organisations, including the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Medical Dermatology, and the Scottish Dermatological Society.

Beyond her direct clinical work, Dr Honan has served as Clinical Lead and Clinical Director for Dermatology in public healthcare services. She plays an active role in education and professional development, helping to train future Consultant Dermatologists. Her areas of clinical expertise include the assessment of skin lesions, routine mole checks, skin cancer screening, acne management, hair and scalp conditions, and the ongoing treatment of inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis.
