Ms Alexandra Young

Alexandra Young is an experienced Optometrist and serves as the Clinical Lead at Cameron Optometry. She holds a BSc (hons) in Optometry and Vision Science, an independent prescribing qualification, and an MSc (distinction) in Primary Care Ophthalmology from The University of Edinburgh. In addition to her academic achievements, Alexandra completed the Paediatric Eye Care Certificate course with Ulster University in 2021 and is currently pursuing the Professional Certificate in Low Vision with Cardiff University.

In her professional roles, Alexandra works at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in ophthalmology, where she provides care to children in the paediatric service and screens paediatric patients for uveitis, a type of eye inflammation associated with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. She has also expanded her expertise to include the treatment of complex eye conditions, including glaucoma patients. 

Beyond her career, Alexandra is passionate about travel and is a budding astrophotographer. She eagerly anticipates the opportunity to return to Sweden and Norway to capture the aurora borealis.
