Mr. Alan Treharne is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Hywel Dda University Health Board, where he has been serving since 2016. Before his current post, Mr. Treharne trained as a Specialty Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in South Wales and London. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London, where he also earned a BSc (Hons) in Medical Science, Biochemistry, and Immunology. Additionally, he completed a postgraduate diploma in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound at Cardiff University. He is a member of the Royal oof Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a BMS regisered menopause specialist.

A STATE-of-the-art scanner donated to Cardigan Integrated Care Centre by the Friends of Cardigan and Community Health Care – the former Cardigan Hospital League of Friends charity – has been described as ‘a game-changer’ by a senior member of staff. Mr Alan Treharne. As a consultant gynaecologist passionate about community services, I'm really excited to be able to build a range of services, not inly in women's health, but also across other specialties.
