Dr. Ahmed Etman

Dr. Ahmed Etman is a highly skilled Gynaecological Surgeon with a focus on minimal access surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures. He currently practises at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where his expertise spans both benign and oncology day case surgeries.

Dr. Etman graduated from Cairo University in 2006 and later moved to the North East of England to complete his advanced Obstetrics and Gynaecological training. He further honed his skills as a Gynaecological Oncology Fellow at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Since joining Northumbria Healthcare NHSFT in 2018, Dr. Etman has made significant contributions, notably serving as the clinical lead for the Gynaecology service between 2020 and 2022. In 2021, he launched a successful robotic surgery programme, involving only two Gynaecological Surgeons alongside specialists from other surgical fields.

Dr. Etman's areas of clinical interest include gynaecological oncology, endometriosis, menstrual disorders, ovarian cysts, pelvic masses, colposcopy, and day case surgery. He is accredited in minimal access surgery by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and in colposcopy by the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. His dedication to patient care and advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques has made him a respected leader in his field.

Dr. Etman holds memberships in several professional organisations, including the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Society for Gynaecological Oncology, the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, and the European Society of Gynaecologic Robotic Surgery, among others.
