Dr Adhish Avasthi

Dr Adhish Avasthi is a highly accomplished Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in upper limb and trauma surgery. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to delivering exceptional care by incorporating the latest advancements in orthopaedic medicine. His clinical focus is particularly directed towards minimally invasive shoulder and elbow procedures, which are designed to enhance patient recovery and improve overall clinical outcomes. He has extensive expertise in performing joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, and soft tissue procedures, including patient-specific and navigated joint replacements.

Dr Avasthi completed his primary medical education, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Panjab University, India, in 1998, followed by a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, India, in 2002. Upon relocating to the United Kingdom, he undertook extensive postgraduate training in the south of England. He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in 2008 and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2015. To further refine his specialist skills, he completed advanced fellowships in Advanced Trauma and Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He is a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Elbow & Shoulder Society.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Avasthi is deeply committed to medical education and professional development. He serves as an accredited Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) Instructor, actively training and mentoring specialist trainees, junior doctors, and medical students. His dedication to the field is also reflected in his contribution to orthopaedic research, having published articles on topics such as upper limb fractures, tendon repairs, and surgical safety protocols. Through his teaching and clinical work, he continues to support the advancement of orthopaedic care standards.
