He is forthright in his opinion that listening carefully to patients and ensuring they have enough time to be involved in decision making about their care is a number one priority in ensuring patients are satisfied that they are recieving care they feel is correct for them. Feedback from patients has consistently shown he is able to communicate well, takes time to listen and works hard to explore all viable treatment options with a strong emphasis on patient autonomy.

Extremely professional yet friendly, calming experience during my hysteroscopy which I'd felt anxious about beforehand. Everything was explained clearly to me by Aaron, before, during and after the procedure and he had everything ready so it was all over so quickly. Really efficient and caring team and I felt extremely comfortable and well looked after. I didn't expect the experience to feel good given the procedure being done but I am so pleased to be able to say it was great!
Mr McAvoy was lovely and very considerate. I felt listened to and understood. He explained to me the possibilities, different treatments and what the diagnostic is. I felt this very helpful as i was able to understand myself more too! He was very supportive and empathetic.
I found Mr McAvoy to be very sympathetic, and he explained fully what would be involved in my surgery and managed my expectations as to the outcome. He visited me before and after surgery which was very reassuring. I fully recommend him as an extremely competent surgeon with a professional and caring bedside manner.
Dr Aaron McAvoy was the obstetrician who supported us through our second pregnancy. Having lost our first baby when she was 10 days old due to a complex heart condition, the prospect of navigating a subsequent pregnancy felt daunting and overwhelming. However, from our very first appointment, Dr McAvoy was an incredible source of strength and support for us. He always showed deep compassion for our loss and recognised the inevitable challenges it presented for us in this pregnancy. He allowed us to feel as though we were entirely free to use the time, space and his expertise in whatever way we needed on the day, and always made himself readily available for further/additional support if ever we should wish. He handled the delicate balance between validating our fears and concerns, whilst being reassuring but never dismissive, with great tact and sensitivity. We found him to be thorough, professional at all times but also personable and empathetic. His support in the journey was enormously significant in helping us to feel safe in the pregnancy which I believe ultimately also contributed to the strength of the bond we now enjoy with our baby.
I felt very well listened to & had my concerns addressed. I felt fully involved in the decision making about my care.
Aaron was available during my pregnancy for any questions I had or care I needed. He was kind, patient, professional and reassuring when I was left with a USS result i didn’t understand. He put me at ease before and during my ELCS and made the experience calm and smooth. He put my partner at ease also. Many thanks Aaron!
I had a hysteroscopy and was anxious as I had a previous biopsy which I found painful. I was reassured and the team looked after me during the procedure, which helped ease my anxiety about the procedure l
Mr McAvoy was extremely calm, professional and understanding during my emergency procedure. He explained exactly what was happening and made sure I had all the information for me to feel involved in my care whilst prepping for, and undertaking my surgery. He followed up with excellent aftercare, meaning I felt safe and fully informed during the whole process.
I had a very positive experience with Mr. McAvoy who I consulted for some abnormal bleeding I was experiencing. From the beginning, he demonstrated an excellent knowledge base and explained everything clearly, which made me feel reassured and informed throughout my care. He was friendly, approachable, and always took the time to listen. I never felt rushed, and he made sure I was comfortable at every step. I especially want to commend his skill in performing my outpatient hysteroscopy. The procedure was carried out with great expertise—it was efficient and virtually painless. I felt completely at ease in his care and truly appreciated the calm and professional manner in which everything was handled. Overall, I felt well cared for and respected. I would highly recommend Mr. McAvoy to anyone seeking compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled gynaecological care.

Thank you for these lovely comments, really appreciate it!
