I feel like I was being scrutinised for being autistic and possibly having adhd, I’m really disappointed with the way I was spoken to like I was five and didn’t understand myself. I don’t appreciate the disrespect against me and the way I am as a person I didn’t ask for any of the things I was born this way. It’s disgusting behaviour considering you are supposed to be supporting people with disabilities not putting us down and shaming us for being different it’s not my fault and I didn’t ask to be born like this.

The professionals I spoke with were very good, I think email communication could have been better as often I was left not knowing where I was with the process, which is quite long (although not RTN's fault that they are inundated). Getting my diagnosis has already been a great help and I am understanding myself much better. I would recommend to seek help if you think you might be neurodivergent. The process took about 13 months in total which is much better than a lot of places and it was very thorough.

Chloe Best was lovely although the session was very very long as ADHD and ASD focussed… maybe they could be broken into two sessions? I needed help getting a diagnosis quicker and the manager fit me in earlier than expected The psychiatrist Dr de la Cruz was really lovely and very thorough and made me feel at ease

I was made to feel safe and as relaxed as possible. The assessor Tia was kind and understanding .

I was very nervous for my assessment but the assessor made me feel more relaxed and explained everything thoroughly. There were some questions where I simply ‘didn’t know’ but she was ok with this. The waiting to find out if you are going to gain a diagnosis is very hard. I think something to bridge the gap between the report being written and the decision would be helpful - especially if you suffer with anxiety like myself.
