Optifema

I attended an appointment with Mr Hunter alongside my teenage daughter, who had been experiencing a range of symptoms after her concerns had largely been dismissed by NHS gynaecology due to a "normal" pelvic MRI. From our very first appointment, we found Mr Hunter to be extremely approachable. He was excellent with my daughter, who was only 16 at the time. Faced with the significant decision of whether to proceed with investigative surgery at 18,, we chose instead to have the EndoSure test carried out at the Optifema Clinic. The test indicated a high likelihood of endometriosis being present. The procedure itself was completely painless, and we received the results immediately afterwards. Kerry, who carried out the test, was amazing. She put my daughter completely at ease and explained the results in such a compassionate and reassuring manner. The results of the test gave us the confidence we needed to know that a laparoscopy was the right next step. My daughter remains under Mr Hunter's care, and after a recent appointment she came out saying how seen and heard she felt by both Mr Hunter and Kerry. My daughter has a way to go,, but we feel incredibly fortunate that she is being cared for by the team at Optifema. Thank you, Mr Hunter and Kerry, for your professionalism, kindness, and support.

My 2nd visit to optifema and I can’t rate it highly enough, extremely welcoming and professional, first time I seen Kerry for the endoshare and she was so nice and empathetic, cannot say enough good about this place.

Dr Hunter was fab! His extensive knowledge is evident and his ease is to be commended. He made me feel so comfortable that the very intimate questions didn't make me uncomfortable. His diagram explaining my diagnosis was so helpful and his explanation of my condition made total sense. Big shout out to Kerry for having a wee giggle with me!

Dr Hunter took the time to listen to my health story & understand it. He was kind & caring, provided clear advice, & always checked in with the plan of action in a collaborative manner. On top of which, our appointments have been on schedule; and his team are exceptionally compassionate & worked flexibly to accommodate my needs. True person-centred care.

Couldn't recommend this place enough. Treatment and aftercare is the best. I have used other similar services and they don’t even compare. Highly recommend.

Most definitely the best experince with both dr hunter and kerry, it was so refreshing to have someone listen to me and not dismiss my feelings! All the staff were super friendly and welcoming! I couldn’t fault it I left feeling a lot happier

Wonderful experience !

10/10 overall experience. Communication was good up to the appointment which was available at short notice. On the day the process was explained clearly. The test was then carried out professionally, a positive result dealt with sympathetically and next steps laid out clearly also. I would not hesitate in recommending Optifema.

I was recommended to attend Dr Hunter by a family member following miscarriage and fertility concerns. My experience has been very positive, Dr Hunter is a professional, informative and supportive clinician. I have felt listened to and when I have needed reassurance or had a question a timely answer has been given. During a tracking appointment, I had mentioned my smear test was due and this was completed with no discomfort and results given very quickly, I have never had a bad experience for a smear test but after this screening I realise that some experiences can be superior. Kerry has been fantastic, quick to respond, very accommodating and a supportive comforting individual. Prior to attending Optifema, I had lost a lot of confidence in what my body should do as well as my trust in medical professionals, with the help of Dr Hunter and the Optifema team I am gaining this back.
