This service helped me gain confidence to exercise after open heart surgery. The one to one sessions focused on me, my heart and diet. It allowed me to go from a slow walk to running in only a few months. I feel healthier than I have since my twenties.

I appreciate the professionalism and sensitivity of my coach and the CPnR team. The experience is supported well through with access to the nurse and a good level of information that enhances my understanding and allows me to make the correct choices

I have found CP+R to be amazing at a time in my life when I felt very unwell, lost and hopeless. Often professionals just do their job, but CP+R went beyond this and ensured they thoroughly understand my disorder, POTS. Their coaching is absolutely adapted to my needs, and every effort is made to ensure I understand my heart responses. They are invested in me being independent and check my progress all the time, not just in their sessions. Their care towards me as a person stretches beyond their necessary care. An example: while on holiday I picked up an unrelated infection, when Lucy (my coach) realised, she phoned me to see what she could do to help and to ensure I was accessing CP+R health services fully. I have made excellent progress after years of getting weaker and less fit. I now have hope that I will be able to live a normal life. Best of all, my sessions are fun so I look forward to them.

As someone that’s gone through some major heart trauma (aortic aneurysm and mechanical aortic value replacement at 49) my biggest struggle was knowing what I could or couldn’t do. I had no confidence in my body after my surgery and didn’t know how far to push things. CPR have helped me from the start to get me to a place where I’m confident of my ability. They also show my progress over time and set realistic goals. There services are delivered with a smile. I would recommend them to anyone who’s been though trauma and needs help to get back to normal living.

I highly recommend the CP+R team. They made a huge difference to my recovery in the first 4 months post-op open heart surgery where I found myself totally at a loss both physically & emotionally. Nothing can prepare you for that kind of surgery & the subsequent muscle loss. Lily helped me rebuild both my confidence & my stamina. Having open access to Angela, the cardiac nurse, was insightful too. She helped me understand why the recovery is so long in a life that to date had been fit & healthy, bouncing back from injuries very quickly. You cannot underestimate that kind of support.

My personal trainer was excellent. I found it difficult to understand the results of the two assessments though. And there seemed to be a bit of lack of communication between the assessment team and the PT.

Thank you for the feedback. We will look into the assessment report and how that is communicated.
