He was reassuring about my worries but honest about all possible outcomes, leaving me able to make an informed decision as to whether I went ahead. The actual procedure was carried out so smoothly with every step explained. I felt as though I was in very safe hands! The outcome is amazing - more positive than I could ever have imagined. I’m so glad I took the plunge to go ahead with the procedure. The admin team, reception staff and the nurses assisting during and later when the stitches were taken out were also kind and reassuring. Choosing Dr Atheron for my rhinoplasty was life-changing. From the start, Duncan provided a professional and reassuring environment, thoroughly explaining the procedure and answering all my questions. I had a big ask – not to look like I’ve had a major rhinoplasty op. The surgery went smoothly, and one year later, I can confidently say the result is fantastic - my new nose looks completely natural! Most people are unaware I’ve had a nose job (even my parents, who needed to see before and after evidence to notice a difference). It feels like I finally have the nose I was always supposed to have. Recovery was easier than expected, with practically no pain and minimal scarring (despite having an alar base reduction). My only difficulty in conveying my opinion of Kieran Power is finding the right words to express just how amazing a surgeon he is. This was after two previous reconstruction attempts had left me in a sorry state. I had been told it was in fact a “satisfactory result” because I could hide it in a bra (!) and there was not much else that could be done to help me. I was devastated and disfigured but my sister, a nurse, urged me to get a second opinion. From the moment I first met Kieran, I felt totally safe. He immediately reassured me that he could help me. His gentle manner is incredibly calming and I cannot express how much it meant to be treated with such kindness and respect after my previous experiences. This served to significantly reduce my anxieties from the start (and I had hitherto been treated for PTSD in connection with previous medical related traumatic experiences and my previous unsatisfactory cancer recon surgeries). I knew I was in safe hands and that this was a surgeon I could trust. His integrity and skill are outstanding. My surgery and recovery all went very well and I received wonderful care (Donna, his secretary, is just brilliant!). I have since shared photos of my recon with other breast cancer patients and they always say “wow, I want your surgeon!” I had just about given up even daring to hope that I might ever be able to feel vaguely happy about my body again after cancer but Kieran is a real life genius surgeon - I am eternally grateful to him. This Summer I pranced around in a bikini on the beach actually feeling confident I think!?!
