On two occasions I attended Thornbury Hospital for pre op checks or for stitches removed. Both times I waited over 40 minutes to be seen. The reason I was given was that no rooms were available.

How i wish, with all of my being that NHS hospitals could operate like Spire does. It makes me sad. Spire was great, relaxed, friendly and the staff within always seemed to have more time for you, from the receptionists right through to my surgeon.

Consistent staff meant there was no repeating myself. Straight forward process from admission to release. Very good communication, including with my 4 year old son, which made him feel less like a patient and more like he was out for the day. Trusted what I said and made us feel part of discussions rather than being talked at
