After a warning from the neurosurgeon & oncologist who had been monitoring the regrowth of my meningioma in September 2023 that it required surgery & as it was a second operation it was at high risk of stroke, bleeding, bone infection, going through old scar tissue, the tumour was pressing against a large vein. My daughter suggested I sought a second opinion, we chose Mr Shoakazemi who also specialises in my type of brain tumour.  He confirmed…the risks were very high indeed, the brain tumour had grown too big for fractionated radiotherapy and surgery through the old wound of some 20 + years ago was the only option. We found Mr Shoakazemi to be extremely approachable, professional, calm, warm & informative.  I feel incredibly lucky to have had the faith on a date said to be the unluckiest day in the yearly calendar …Friday 13th October to undergo surgery with such a gifted neurosurgeon. I am (thankfully to Mr Shoakazemi) walking straight, talking straight & feeling fully blessed.

My experience with Dr Rakshi has been excellent so far, and should I require a further appointment I won't hesitate to make one. I had decided to book an appointment with him following a great deal of research, and after finding him to have excellent patient reviews as well as a wealth of knowledge and expertise I was confident I would receive a high standard of care. In my appointment he not only listened but also made me feel truly heard and validated, responded in a very timely manner to my emails, took the time to write a very detailed follow up letter with clear actions, and conveys a genuine desire to get to the root of my complex medical issues.

From diagnosis onwards, Dr Paraskevopoulos was incredibly clear in his explanations, and really listened and responded to all our questions and concerns. He took the time to ensure we were fully informed of the balance of risks, benefits and complexities of the surgery, and secured the best team to undertake it. I really believe things would not have gone so smoothly without him. His kind and professional manner gave us huge confidence, and I could not be happier with the care I have received.
