With a history of eye issues I was nervous about a series of complex eye operations for which Mr Park had been recommended to me by my normal consultant. Mr.Park was able to assure me and explain carefully the treatment required. Throughout the consultations, the operations and the follow up checks I felt fully supported. Always timely for appointments and always made time to see me when urgency required it.

I had full confidence in seeing Mr Park about cataract surgery as he had previously treated a macular hole promptly and successfully in my other eye a year ago. I was dealt with professionally and the surgery went very well with no complications. Mr Park is easy to talk to and makes one feel at ease .

Mr Dong Park is the authority in his field. He accommodated my VR surgery pre xmas as a priority and needed to reschedule other less critical ( cataract ) operations. Dong Parks explanation of my retinal tears pre and post operation was precise and understandable. I had 3 post operation follow up's and all confirmed restoration of my vision as he mapped out at the outset. I have seen Dr Parks several times over the last 2 years, due to both eyes having detached retinas. His professionalism throughout this experience and his surgical skill has resulted in my vision being fully restored. Mr Dong Park is an outstanding Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon, and is a miracle worker with exceptional ability. In January 2023, I was diagnosed with a severe retinal detachment (GRT). The prognosis I faced was retinal detachment surgery using silicone oil which would no doubt require further intervention at later stages of my life, or would leave me with vision impairment. As a teacher, and father, this was devastating news because being fairly young, this outcome was devastating for me and my family, and unquestionably life altering. However, Mr. Park explained to me that he would attempt to use a gas tamponade (which he pioneered in the UK) in the surgical treatment. My operation lasted 1 hour 30 mins and it was clear Mr Park’s surgical expertise was put to the test. Throughout I was impressed by Mr. Park’s professionalism, diligence and straight talking. After an extended period of posturing, a post op review concluded that my operation was a success. As a natural result of the Vitrectomy (Retinal Detachment Surgery), 6 months later I developed a cataract, which is something most patients develop. In my case, because I had a severe retinal detachment and had LASIK eye surgery to correct my vision back in 2008, I was going to require Complex Cataract Surgery by a talented Vitreoretinal Surgeon.
