Dr. Emin Ergen

Dr Emin Ergen is a Sports Medicine Physician with over four decades of experience in clinical practice, academic leadership, and elite sports medicine. He completed his medical degree and specialisation at Aegean University before undertaking advanced training in Italy and earning a Master of Science in Physical Education and Sport Sciences from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.

Dr Ergen has held numerous academic appointments throughout his career, including founding the School of Sport Sciences at Hacettepe University and serving as a professor at Ankara University. He has worked extensively in both Turkey and Italy, combining his clinical expertise with a strong academic and educational focus.

Dr Ergen has served as Chief Medical Officer at multiple Olympic Games and was a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Medical Commission from 2012 to 2022. He has also collaborated with global organisations such as the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and World Archery.

In his former role as Medical Director at Gloria Sports Arena in Antalya, he focused on optimising athlete performance and medical care. He continues to support international sports medicine initiatives and remains engaged in advancing the field globally.

Dr Ergen is currently based at UPANDRUNNING Medical Center, where he practises full-time as a Sports Medicine Specialist.
