Dr. Bhavna Khan

Dr Bhavna Khan is an esteemed Consultant Rheumatologist at The HBG Medical Center in Dubai with over 20 years of experience. After completing her medical degree in India, she embarked on a journey that included postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in the UK, and specialised training in Rheumatology at the distinguished University of Manchester Rheumatic Diseases Centre, Salford Royal Hospitals, and Mersey Deanery Liverpool. Dr Khan secured Wellcome Trust funding for a pioneering research project in collaboration with University College London, delving into the evaluation of neural mechanisms underpinning arthritic pain through functional neuroimaging techniques. She later was awarded a PhD for her research work by the University of Manchester.

Dr Khan solidified her expertise as a Consultant Rheumatologist within the NHS hospitals in the UK. Since her relocation to Dubai in 2009, she has graced the corridors of numerous leading medical institutions including American Hospital, Mediclinic Hospitals, Burjeel Hospital, and King’s College Hospital Dubai.

Her commitment to patient-centred care shines brightly in her practice, demonstrating her dedication to treating an array of rheumatological conditions. Her proficiency extends beyond common ailments like Rheumatoid Arthritis, SLE, Psoriatic Arthritis, Gout, and Ankylosing Spondylitis. She exhibits a distinct passion for embracing cutting-edge techniques, particularly in the utilisation of MRI and Ultrasound in the management of these conditions. Dr Khan has led training workshops for MRI in Rheumatology, forging international collaborations with experts from Denmark, Germany, and Canada.

Dr Khan has held a formal appointment as a Lecturer at the University of Manchester. She has imparted knowledge and mentored medical students across her university and NHS positions. Her contributions extend to nurse education programs in the UAE, while her role as a speaker and chairperson at educational events and conferences highlights her commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering academic discourse.
