Dr Bassel Darwish

Dr Bassel Darwish is a US-trained Consultant Rheumatologist and Medical Director of Health Call Clinic in Dubai Healthcare City, where he has been practising since 2015. With more than 25 years of experience, his work spans adult and paediatric rheumatology, with particular expertise in inflammatory arthritis, autoimmune disorders, osteoporosis and complex musculoskeletal disease.

His training includes an Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center, followed by a Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health from 1997 to 1999. He has maintained American Board certification in Internal Medicine since 1997 and in Rheumatology since 1999, and has been a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology since 1998.

Dr Darwish has published in peer-reviewed medical literature and has taught internal medicine residents and rheumatology trainees across the USA, UAE and wider Gulf region. He also serves as an invited peer reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology, reflecting his continued involvement in academic rheumatology.

Dr Darwish’s practice is centred on accurate diagnosis, long-term disease control and avoiding unnecessary treatment burden. His approach is particularly relevant for patients with chronic inflammatory or autoimmune conditions that require ongoing monitoring, medication adjustment and coordination across different stages of disease.
