Dr Willy Low

Dr Willy Low is a highly qualified Specialist General Surgeon who provides comprehensive elective and emergency surgical care. With a primary clinical focus on bariatric surgery and benign upper gastrointestinal pathology, Dr Low is dedicated to delivering patient-centred care that prioritises safety, empathy, and clear communication. He works closely with patients to ensure they are fully informed about their management options, helping them achieve optimal health outcomes throughout their surgical and weight-loss journeys.

Dr Low obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Western Australia. He completed his internship and residency training at metropolitan hospitals before undertaking extensive surgical training across Western Australia. After gaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery, he pursued advanced post-fellowship training in Sydney, specialising in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. Dr Low is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and holds professional memberships with General Surgeons Australia, the Australia and New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association, the Australia and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society, and the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Low is actively involved in medical education and research, serving as a Clinical Dean and Senior Lecturer at a prominent university. His broad surgical expertise encompasses laparoscopic procedures, including hernia repairs, appendicectomies, cholecystectomies, and bile duct explorations. He is also certified to perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopies and colonoscopies, offering advanced interventions such as dilatations, PEG insertions, and stent placements. Dr Low is committed to improving healthcare access, regularly visiting regional communities to provide specialist care closer to home.
