Dr Oscar Aldridge

Dr Oscar Aldridge is a Specialist General Surgeon currently practicing at Western General Surgery. He completed his medical degree at the University of Tasmania in 2005 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2018.

Following an internship at Fremantle Hospital, Dr Aldridge served four years as a Medical Officer in the Australian Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan as Senior Medical Officer with Combined Team Uruzgan. His experiences treating trauma and emergencies during this time inspired him to pursue a career in emergency and general surgery.

Dr Aldridge has undertaken advanced training in Western Australia and Victoria and now provides care across a broad range of surgical areas. His special interests include hernia and gallbladder surgery, surgical endoscopy, and trauma care. He frequently performs appendicectomies, gallbladder surgery (including bile duct exploration and clearance), hernia repair ranging from straightforward to complex or recurrent cases, as well as procedures for small bowel and colonic disease. He is skilled in both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open surgical techniques and is GESA-certified in colonoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
