Dr Vaishali Bhalerao

Dr Vaishali Bhalerao is a highly accomplished and dedicated Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and General Practitioner based in Hobart, Tasmania. With a career spanning multiple continents, she provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to women at all stages of life. Dr Bhalerao is deeply committed to delivering evidence-based treatments and empowering her patients through education, ensuring they feel supported and reassured throughout their healthcare journey. In her clinical practice, Dr Bhalerao focuses on a wide range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions. She is particularly passionate about managing high-risk pregnancies, providing pre-pregnancy counselling, and supporting patients experiencing fertility issues or recurrent miscarriages. Her gynaecological expertise extends to the treatment of menstrual abnormalities, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), chronic pelvic pain, and menopausal issues, including hormone replacement therapy. Additionally, she is highly skilled in performing gynaecological surgeries, such as laparoscopic procedures, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and prolapse repairs, as well as addressing vulval dermatological conditions and adolescent gynaecology.

Dr Bhalerao began her medical education in Mumbai, India, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She went on to complete her Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a prestigious group of teaching hospitals in Mumbai, alongside a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGO) in 1992 and a Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FCPS) in 1995 from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Mumbai. After gaining extensive experience running a private practice and teaching as an Associate Professor in India, she worked within the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom before relocating to Australia. Dr Bhalerao is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).
