Dr Tissa Tandiari

Dr. Tissa Tandiari is a dedicated and highly skilled Consultant Gastroenterologist with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), advanced endoscopy, and clinical nutrition. She completed her MBBS medical degree at Monash University in 2005 and earned FRACP specialist status in Gastroenterology in 2012, having trained in both Melbourne and Sydney.

Dr. Tandiari further advanced her expertise through an 18-month Senior Clinical Fellowship in IBD and Advanced Endoscopy at Royal London Hospital, followed by a Research & Clinical Fellowship in Clinical Nutrition at St Mark’s Hospital in London. In 2017, she expanded her skills in early gastric cancer and gastric intestinal metaplasia screening at the Osaka International Cancer Institute.

She plays a key role at Eastern Health, where she leads gastric cancer screening for high-risk patients and contributes to IBD and Nutrition services. Dr. Tandiari performs endoscopic procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, large polypectomy, endomucosal resection (EMR), and chromoendoscopy. She also participates in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program, focusing on therapeutic colonoscopy and removal of large adenomas and flat serrated polyps.

Dr. Tandiari is known for her compassionate and patient-focused care, prioritising the needs of her patients across a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, GORD/dyspepsia, coeliac disease, and iron deficiency.

She performs procedures at Mitcham Private, Epworth Eastern, Box Hill Hospital, and Maroondah Hospital and is available for consultations at Gutwise Gastroenterology on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
