Dr Timothy Siu

Dr Timothy Siu is a highly qualified and internationally trained Neurosurgeon and Spine Surgeon who specialises in advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Siu is dedicated to delivering exceptional clinical care for individuals experiencing complex brain, spine, and peripheral nerve conditions. He is widely recognised for his expertise in pioneering new and modified surgical techniques, particularly in the application of cutting-edge technologies to improve patient outcomes and recovery times.

Dr Siu completed his medical degree (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at the University of Sydney, followed by a doctorate (PhD) in visual neuroscience at the University of New South Wales in 2009. After completing his specialist neurosurgery training in Sydney, he undertook a prestigious fellowship programme at a world-renowned cancer centre in the United States, where he received advanced subspecialty training in the management of brain, spine, and peripheral nerve tumours. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery and holds specialty accreditation as a Permanent Impairment Assessor.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Siu is actively involved in research and education. He serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at a prominent university's faculty of medicine and health sciences, and holds appointments as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and a Visiting Medical Officer at major hospitals. As a leading expert in minimally invasive spinal surgery, Dr Siu was among the first cohort of Spinal Surgeons to apply three-dimensional (3D) printing technology to create custom-made implants for the treatment of spinal deformities. He has also co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and regularly contributes to the ongoing education of future Doctors and Surgeons.
