Dr Tejas Kanhere

Dr Tejas Kanhere is a highly qualified Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients experiencing persistent pain. He utilises a collaborative biopsychosocial approach to pain management, focusing on restoring function and improving overall quality of life. Dr Kanhere is dedicated to tailoring individualised treatment plans that address the physical, psychological, and social aspects of chronic pain, ensuring that each patient receives compassionate and holistic support.

With expertise in all aspects of pain medicine, Dr Kanhere has a particular interest in managing subacute and chronic pain conditions. His clinical focus includes widespread and neuropathic pain, nerve pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), pelvic pain, and chronic spinal pain. He is also experienced in managing pain associated with hypermobility. To help patients find relief, Dr Kanhere offers a range of minimally invasive interventional treatment options, such as nerve blocks, therapeutic injections, radiofrequency therapies, and advanced neuromodulation techniques.

Dr Kanhere completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2010. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours. Following his medical degree, he undertook extensive specialist training in Sydney, gaining valuable experience at major tertiary pain management and research centres. Dr Kanhere achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2017, followed by his Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2022. He remains actively involved in clinical research and the supervision of medical trainees.
