Dr Simon Cowap

Dr Simon Cowap is a highly dedicated and reassuring General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With extensive experience across the full spectrum of general medicine, he is committed to delivering evidence-based care that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual. His clinical approach is characterised by clear communication, empathy, and a strong focus on supporting patients through all stages of life, from early childhood to adulthood.

In his clinical practice, Dr Cowap manages a broad range of health conditions, with particular expertise in chronic disease management, adult general medicine, and paediatrics. He is highly skilled in performing minor surgical procedures, including skin biopsies and the removal of small cysts and skin lesions. Additionally, he has a strong interest in mental health and skin cancer medicine, ensuring his patients receive thorough and well-rounded care. Beyond his day-to-day clinical work, he also provides independent medico-legal assessments and expert opinions.

Dr Cowap graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 1987, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS (Hons)). He subsequently achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 1997. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the wider medical community, he serves as an Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is also a Hearing Member of the Medical Council of New South Wales, a Professional Member of the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and a Panel Member for the Australian Government's Professional Services Review.
