Dr Shoba Iyer

Dr Shoba Iyer is a highly qualified and dedicated Consultant Geriatrician and Paediatrician who provides expert medical care. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, she is committed to supporting patients at both ends of the age spectrum, from young children to older adults. Dr Iyer focuses on enhancing the health, well-being, and quality of life of her patients through comprehensive assessments and tailored management plans.

In her geriatric practice, Dr Iyer specialises in the management of complex conditions affecting older adults. Her areas of clinical interest include the management of dementia, delirium, and rehabilitation in the elderly. She is also highly skilled in falls prevention and addressing polypharmacy, with a particular focus on the safe deprescribing of medications to optimise patient health. As a Children's Doctor, she provides dedicated paediatric care, addressing the unique developmental and medical needs of infants, children, and adolescents.

Dr Iyer completed her medical education at the University of Adelaide, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1997. She went on to complete her basic physician training in 2002. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), reflecting her advanced training and high standards of clinical practice.
