Dr Shelley Coburn

Dr Shelley Coburn is a highly qualified Specialist Orthodontist who is dedicated to providing exceptional dental care and helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. Originally from New Zealand, she began her professional career as a general Dentist, gaining diverse experience in private practice and working alongside an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Team. Dr Coburn also contributed to the academic community by teaching dental students, which allowed her to share her knowledge and passion for oral health. Her clinical focus eventually led her to specialise in orthodontics, where she combines scientific expertise with a patient-centred approach.

Dr Coburn completed her undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago, earning a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Driven by her interest in tooth movement and facial development, she pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Adelaide, where she obtained a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics. Her academic excellence was recognised with a research prize focused on the bone biology of orthodontics. Dr Coburn is certified by the Australian Orthodontic Board and maintains active memberships with several professional bodies, including the Australian Dental Association, the World Federation of Orthodontists, and the Australian Orthodontic Society, where she has served as a Committee Member.
