Dr Shavi Fernando

Shavi is a specialist committed to providing excellent and individualised obstetric care, with significant expertise in both general and high-risk obstetrics including support for uncomplicated pregnancies and normal deliveries, vaginal births after caesarean (VBAC), twins and multiple gestations, maternal medical conditions and pregnancies following fertility treatment.

Shavi prides himself in being able to tailor your care to your needs during your pregnancy. He is approachable and cares about your experience as well as your outcomes.

As a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Curriculum (Women's Health) at Monash University, Shavi is heavily involved in the training and advancement of the next generation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. This not only helps to keep his practice up to date and relevant, but also means that he has developed an excellent ability to explain complex medical terms in easy to understand language.
