Dr Shaun Fleming

Dr Shaun Fleming is a highly qualified Consultant Haematologist, Laboratory Haematologist, and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician. He specialises in both malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders, with a particular focus on the management of acute leukaemia, lymphoma, and myelodysplasia. Dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate patient care, Dr Fleming combines his clinical expertise with laboratory diagnostics to deliver precise, individualised treatment plans. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of blood disorders, ensuring patients receive thorough and reassuring support throughout their treatment journey.

With a strong commitment to advancing the field of haematology, Dr Fleming is actively involved in clinical research and frontline clinical trials. His areas of clinical interest include cellular therapies, such as chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy, and both allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants. He is also highly skilled in general haematology, offering expert consultative advice on the interpretation of blood count abnormalities, paraproteins, and the management of thrombosis. Through his leadership in clinical trials and research, Dr Fleming remains at the forefront of innovative therapies, striving to improve clinical outcomes and access to cutting-edge treatments for his patients.

Dr Fleming completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 2005. He undertook extensive specialist haematology training across several leading medical institutions and pathology services, followed by a specialised fellowship in Acute Leukaemia. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2023. Dr Fleming holds dual professional fellowships, having been admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) in 2014. He is also an active member of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group.
