Dr Shane Selvanderan

Dr Shane Selvanderan is a highly qualified Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist who provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal, pancreaticobiliary, and hepatic conditions. He is dedicated to delivering personable, tailored, and evidence-based care, ensuring that patients feel supported and informed throughout their medical journey. His clinical approach combines advanced technical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centred focus.

Dr Selvanderan graduated with his medical degree and an Honours degree in 2015, earning a prestigious scholarship and a medical association medal for his research. He completed his core specialist training in Gastroenterology and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2022. To further refine his skills, he completed two dedicated post-fellowship training programmes in advanced interventional endoscopy, gaining valuable experience both within Australia and internationally in Canada. He maintains active professional memberships with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

With a particular interest in therapeutic endoscopy and bowel cancer screening, Dr Selvanderan performs a comprehensive range of diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures. His expertise encompasses high-quality diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as complex interventions such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound, and capsule endoscopy. He is also highly skilled in advanced tissue-resection techniques, including endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic submucosal dissection, which are used to treat large polyps and early-stage gastrointestinal cancers.
