Dr Scott Whyte

Associate Professor Scott Whyte is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist and Geriatrician based in Erina, Australia. With a clinical focus on the diagnosis and management of complex neurological conditions, Dr Whyte is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. He has a particular interest in neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders, and cognitive conditions, helping patients navigate these challenging diagnoses with empathy and expertise.

Dr Whyte's clinical practice encompasses a wide range of neurological and geriatric services. He specialises in movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, atypical parkinsonism, tremors, dystonia, and tics, as well as cognitive disorders including young and late-onset dementias. Additionally, he is highly experienced in administering botulinum toxin therapy for various neurological conditions, including chronic migraines, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasms, and sialorrhoea. His holistic approach ensures that each patient receives a tailored treatment plan designed to optimise their quality of life and functional independence.

Dr Whyte graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of New South Wales in 1982, and later completed a Doctor of Philosophy. He completed his specialist training in Neurology in Sydney and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical leadership and education, he has previously served as the Head of Department of Neurology and the Head of Division of Medicine. He also contributes to the training of future medical professionals as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle and has served as the Director of a regional movement disorders clinic.
