Dr. Tal Koren

Dr Tal Koren is a Consultant Neurologist who specialises in Neuroimmunology, based in Sydney. As a neuroimmunologist, he is able to diagnose and treat various autoimmune conditions that affect the nervous system, including diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS), myasthenia gravis (MG), autoimmune encephalitis and chronic demyelinating polyneuropathy. He is also able to treat general neurology conditions. His approach to practice includes having initial 60 minute appointments to allow enough time for thorough clinical history taking, examination, and time to discuss next steps and ask questions. He values having a collaborative approach with those he treats and understands the importance of forming a good long-term clinical relationship with his patients.

Dr Koren completed his degree in Medicine from the University of Melbourne in 2017, and since then has undertaken advanced neurology training, including a specific Neuroimmunology fellowship. He also has an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of Sydney which he obtained prior to his medical degree. Dr Koren is passionate about clinical research with multiple publications in scientific journals, and he is currently studying for a Master’s degree at the University of Sydney, where he is researching the biomarkers of Multiple Sclerosis. This helps him to remain up to date with the latest advances in neuroscience research. Additional, he is enthusiastic about teaching the next generation of medical professionals and is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
