Dr Sarah McDonnell

Dr Sarah McDonnell is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is deeply committed to providing comprehensive, whole-person care. She believes in the profound impact that high-quality general practice can have on individuals, families, and the wider community. With a patient-centred approach, Dr McDonnell focuses on delivering personalised and supportive medical care, ensuring that every patient feels heard and validated throughout their healthcare journey.

Throughout her career, Dr McDonnell has developed significant expertise in women's health, sexual health, and reproductive medicine. She has a particular interest in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause, and is highly skilled in managing complex conditions such as endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain. Her clinical practice also encompasses family planning, including the insertion of long-acting contraceptive devices, and she provides shared antenatal care in collaboration with local maternity services. Additionally, Dr McDonnell is experienced in medical dermatology, offering skin checks and managing common skin conditions such as eczema, whilst incorporating trauma-informed care principles into her daily practice.

Dr McDonnell graduated with honours from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, in 2001. Committed to continuous learning and public health, she later obtained a Master of Public Health from Monash University in 2018. Her postgraduate qualifications also include a postgraduate diploma in dermatology and a certificate in skin cancer medicine. Dr McDonnell is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds active membership with the Australasian Menopause Society. Alongside her clinical work, she has contributed to medical education, serving as a clinical Supervisor and university Tutor for medical students.
