Dr Samuel Kuo

Dr Samuel Kuo is a highly accomplished General Surgeon and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon who is dedicated to providing patient-centred, evidence-based care. He specialises in minimally invasive surgical techniques, with a particular focus on advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of treatments, including upper gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and bariatric surgeries, as well as general surgical interventions. Dr Kuo is committed to achieving optimal outcomes for his patients through precise surgical execution and compassionate clinical management.

Dr Kuo graduated with honours from the University of Sydney, where he obtained his medical degree. He subsequently completed advanced specialist training in the fields of oesophagogastric and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, while also gaining extensive experience in liver transplantation. To further expand his clinical expertise, he undertook post-fellowship training in robotic surgery in California, USA, where he gained proficiency in both multi-port and single-port robotic techniques. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Beyond his clinical duties, Dr Kuo is actively involved in academic research and the education of future medical professionals. He serves as a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University and a Clinical Associate at the University of Sydney, having previously worked as a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. Additionally, he is responsible for supervising Surgical Trainees for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, contributing his expertise to the development of high standards in surgical practice.
