Dr Sameer Mihrshahi

Dr Sameer Mihrshahi is a highly regarded General Surgeon and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon who specialises in laparoscopic and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery. With a patient-centred and reassuring approach, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical care for a wide range of abdominal and digestive conditions. Dr Mihrshahi completed his undergraduate medical degree with Honours at the University of Sydney in 1997. He went on to undertake specialist training in General Surgery, subsequently obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2005. To further refine his expertise, he completed advanced sub-specialist training in Upper Gastrointestinal and HPB Surgery, which included a prestigious clinical fellowship in pancreaticobiliary surgery in the United Kingdom. He also gained valuable international experience working as a Consultant Surgeon in the United Kingdom before returning to Australia. Dr Mihrshahi is an active member of several professional bodies, including the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA).

In his clinical practice, Dr Mihrshahi focuses on the surgical management of disorders affecting the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas. He is highly skilled in performing laparoscopic procedures, including gallbladder surgery and abdominal wall hernia repairs. Additionally, his expertise extends to stomach surgery, hiatus hernia repairs, and surgical interventions for both cancer and obesity, such as sleeve gastrectomy. Dr Mihrshahi also performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopies (gastroscopies) as well as screening colonoscopies, offering patients a complete pathway from diagnosis to treatment and recovery.
