Dr Romi Rimer

Dr Romi Rimer is a highly respected Consultant Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, family-centred care for infants, children, and adolescents from birth to 18 years of age. With a reassuring and holistic approach, she addresses a wide spectrum of paediatric concerns, ensuring that each child's physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met. Dr Rimer is dedicated to working collaboratively with families to help children reach their full potential, recognising that every young patient is unique.

Her clinical expertise spans both acute medical conditions and complex developmental or behavioural challenges. Dr Rimer has a particular interest in managing unsettled babies and infant sleep disturbances, as well as common childhood medical issues such as asthma, eczema, allergies, constipation, encopresis, growth concerns, headaches, abdominal pain, seizures, and tics. Additionally, she provides expert assessment and support for developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, learning difficulties, and school readiness.

Dr Rimer graduated with honours from Monash University, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She completed her specialist paediatric training at a major tertiary children's hospital in Melbourne and gained further valuable clinical experience working in the United Kingdom. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. Alongside her clinical practice, she holds a prominent academic role as a Clinical Associate Professor and is heavily involved in medical education, directing training programmes for Junior Medical Staff and Paediatric Trainees across the state. She also contributes her expertise as an Expert Reviewer for leading national parenting resources.
