Dr Roderick Chua

Dr Roderick Chua is a highly qualified Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Heart Failure Specialist who provides comprehensive cardiac care. With a reassuring and professional approach, he dedicatedly manages patients experiencing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. His clinical focus encompasses advanced heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, and coronary angioplasty and stenting, ensuring that patients receive tailored and evidence-based treatment pathways to improve their cardiovascular health and overall quality of life.

As an Interventional Cardiologist, Dr Chua performs a comprehensive range of coronary interventional procedures, utilising radial artery access where appropriate to enhance patient comfort and recovery. He is also a Level A CT Coronary Angiogram Specialist, skilled in reporting complex imaging studies. His diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities extend to conducting exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and managing advanced therapies for end-stage heart failure and post-cardiac transplant care.

Dr Chua completed his medical education at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He undertook his basic physician training at a major teaching hospital in Sydney, followed by advanced training in cardiology. He furthered his expertise by completing a fellowship at a prominent heart and lung transplant unit, focusing on transplantation medicine and end-stage heart failure, and subsequently completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at a high-volume cardiac unit. Dr Chua is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
